Thank you for your interest in our Veterans History Project. If you would like to be interviewed, or you know a veteran who would like to be interviewed, you may email us or call Ellen Bassett at 847-362-2330. We look forward to hearing from you and hearing your story.

The procedure for the interview process is outlined below:

Before the interview:
-notify the library of your interest to participate
-the library will send you a packet of information, including release forms and sample interview questions.
-a library staff member will contact you to set up an interview date.
-look for pictures of yourself in uniform to bring in and share with us

At the interview:
-your picture will be taken
-any pictures, documents or artifacts that you would like to share may be scanned. You may donate pictures or documents to the Library of Congress if you like, otherwise, you can take them home with you
-the interview process will last from 1 - 2 hours

After the Interview
-within a week or two you will be given an audio copy of your interview. A written transcript of the interview will follow later.
-a copy of your interview will be sent to the Folklife Center of the Library of Congress
